Four Schools in Pudumong Receive School Bicycles During The Thuntsa Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Program

The Department of Education in the North West Province is delighted to announce that it has been selected as a beneficiary of 351 school bicycles through the Thuntsa Lerole accelerated service delivery program, spearheaded by the National and Provincial Departments of Transport.

Deputy Minister Lisa Mangcu, representing the National Department of Transport, honored the activity by emphasizing the crucial role bicycles play in enhancing education.

β€œThe bicycles are a contribution to improving your education. Learners will receive bicycles along with helmets and reflective jackets to ensure their safety during transit. These bicycles are intended for those who do not utilize buses and can cycle to and from school, particularly for learners residing within 3-5km, facilitating timely arrival.”

A total of 350 bicycles will be distributed to Morwalela Primary, Tlhakung Secondary, Majeng Secondary, and Thutoetsile Secondary.

MEC for Education in the North West, Viola Motsumi, expressed gratitude for this significant gesture extended to the four schools.

“We are delighted to receive this generous contribution just ahead of the 30 years of democracy, which we will celebrate on April 27. These bicycles will undoubtedly aid our learners in accessing education more conveniently, ensuring they arrive at school punctually and safely.”

This initiative underscores the commitment of both national and provincial departments to prioritize education and enhance accessibility for learners across the North West Province.
