The offices of the MEC and that of the Superintendent General are inundated with complaints from parents and stakeholders regarding schools that refuse to release learners’ progress reports.

School Principals are herein instructed to desist from demanding payment from parents as a condition to release learners’ progress reports. School principals are further referred to the South African Schools’ Act (SASA) 84, Section 40 and 41 which clarifies how to handle enforcement of payment of school fees.
