PROMOSA SECONDARY SCHOOL TURNING A NEW LEAF

The Class of 2023 from Promosa Secondary School in Promosa Township near Potchefstroom turned a new leaf to boost its matric performance by attending classes taught by educators from other schools.

It’s almost three weeks in a row the Grade 12 learners from Promosa Secondary School being taught by educators from other schools in an effort to improve their results.

Promosa Secondary School is one of the schools whose performance has been below 70% for several years.

The MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi welcomed the involvement of parents in the education of their children.

“I wish to thank the parents of Promosa Secondary School, who agreed for their children to be part of the intervention programme introduced by the department in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District. I am optimistic that this school will boost the results of the province at the end of the year.

“The learners on weekends are taught by different educators apart from their own educators from their school. This strategy is intended to expose them to different approaches in answering examination questions”, expressed MEC Motsumi.

MEC Motsumi further indicated that beyond the involvement of the parents in the education of their children, the district has embarked on a series of engagements with structures of the community on holding meetings with Councillors from Promosa Township. This move is in line with community involvement imperatives of Quality Learning and Teaching Campaign.

Councillors around the area of Promosa Township are expected to work with the Department as it seeks to turn the situation around.

The department in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District has lined up meetings with Ministers’ Fraternal, Business sector, Non-Governmental Organizations, Political Parties and other stakeholders.
