The North West Department of Education MEC, Mmaphefo Matsemela congratulated Ms Agnes Rasesemola and Mr Albert Mohitlhi who both won awards during the 7th Annual Batho Pele Excellence Award ceremony held at Birchwood, Borksburg on Thursday, 24 March 2022.
MEC Matsemela expressed that the province was extremely proud of their achievements.
“I take this opportunity to congratulate Ms Agnes Rasesemola the 2021 African Union Continental Teacher Award winner and Mr Mohitlhi our winner of the 2021 Best Mathematics Teacher category in the National Teaching Awards. Again, this year you have both made our province proud in the Batho Pele Excellence Awards. I believe that you are both examples of hard work.
l encourage everyone in our sector to walk on your footsteps in order to achieve greatness. Our learners in schools are very fortunate to be taught by the best role models. Your hard work and contribuion to the sector of education will surely have positive results in our province at the end of the year. Keep up the good work”, said MEC Matsemela.
Mr Albert Mohitlhi from Joseph Saku Secondary School in Taung obtained a Silver Medal in the Frontline of the Year 2021/2022 category.
Ms Agnes Rasesemola from Sunrise View Secondary School in Sunrise View Township near Rustenburg also obtained a Silver Medal in the Frontline of the Year 2021/2022 category and a Gold Medal in the Best Institution category.
Both Ms Rasesemola and Mr Mohitlhi are expected to be congratulated by MEC Matsemela and the Superintendent General of the department, Ms Stephinah Semaswe after the reopening of schools.
