MEC Lehari to congratulate the 2019 NTA winners

The North West Education and Sport Development MEC, Sello Lehari is set to congratulate the 2019 National Teaching Awards winners at a Breakfast event dedicated specifically for the top educators.

The National Teaching Awards programme is one of the ways in which the Department of Basic Education acknowledges and encourages dedicated and caring teachers in their efforts to develop each learner as a citizen of a democratic, non-racial and non-sexist South Africa.
The Department acknowledges the extraordinary efforts made by the teachers, often in very difficult conditions. The efforts are a service to the children, most of whom come from poor communities. The National Teaching Awards aims to honour dedicated, creative and effective teachers and schools and to encourage best practice in schools.

On Saturday, 16 March 2019, the Department of Basic Education held the National Teaching Awards ceremony at Sandton Convention Centre whereby four educators from the North West province, obtained position one in four categories. These four educators went home with their prizes of four motor cars and the event is scheduled as follows:

Time: 07:30
Date: 15 March 2019
Venue: Kgaswane Country Lodge, Rustenburg.
Members of the media are invited to cover the event.
