Messages of condolences to families of two learners and teacher

The North West Department of Education wishes to convey messages of condolences to families of two learners and teacher all from Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district who passed on untimely on two different incidents on Sunday, 19 July 2020.

The teacher, is a 56 year old female of Ekron Primary School in Mmadinonyane village who was found on Monday morning shot dead in her flat. The incident is reckoned to have happened on Sunday.

The two learners are 7 (Grade 1) and 10 year old (Grade 3) siblings of Mochware Primary School, Ganyesa who burnt with a shack.

These shattering news were all received with sadness by the department and school community at large.
The political principal for Education in the North West, Mmaphefo Matsemela says the news brought a cold sombre moment in the department.

“I am shattered at the loss of our esteemed teacher and our beacons of hope for the future in our two learners. On behalf of the department I wish to convey heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of these untimely deaths. It was a sombre mood right upon receiving the news. May their souls rest in eternal peace,” said Matsemela.

Dates for memorial services will be communicated in due course.
