The North-West Department of Education formed part of the workshop to make a presentation (made by Dr Motsusi) on the progress made and the grey areas identified throughout the implementation process of the Three Streams Model namely: Academic, Vocational and Occupational Streams. The focus was on the implementation of Vocational Stream and lessons learned for implementing the Occupational Stream.

The North West team was led by the Acting Superintendent General, Mr Maropene Seshibe who was accompanied by Director Generals, Mr Prince Masilo, Dr Shadrack Mvula and Mr Buti Chuma. Some of the objectives of the workshop were to get the state of readiness on the implementation of the Three Streams Model and to share lessons learned on the implementation process as well as afford key role players the opportunity to make contributions in planning the implementation of the model, going forward.

The work shop came up with tangible resolutions to inform the better implementation process, to give more young people the space to go to Occupational and Vocational Streams.

Part of the resolutions was that all provinces should hold similar workshops and strengthen stakeholder relationships and ensure massive advocacy campaigns.

Minister Motshekga further cautioned all provinces to keep the Three streams Model product ready for the purposes of handover to the seventh administration, in the near future.
