DEPARMENT COVID-19 WAR ROOM AT DISASTER MANAGEMENT CENTRE

North West Department of Education is one of the Departments that have been assigned to set Covid19 war room at the Disaster Management Centre in Mahikeng.

The purpose of the war room is to deal with challenges related to Covid -19 which include but not limited to Water and Sanitation, Infrastructure related issues, Learner Transport issues and School readiness with special reference to provisioning of PPEs to all teachers, Learners and school Community.

The war room operates daily from 08h00am to 16h30pm and comprises of five staff members per day. The assigned officials are from the  Offices of the DDG( Institutional Management, Governance and Support), Communication, Infrastructure, Community Safety and Transport Management.

The team is assigned two call centre numbers with the aim of tackling the above mentioned issues. Members of the team are Mr Simon Montjane(IMGS), Ms Kefilwe Sebokolodi (IMGS),Mr  Lesole Seakgwa( Communication), Ms Kedisaletse Nkomo (Communication) and Mr Mokgatlhe Rejoice (COSATMA).

All Community members and officials are urged to use these call centre numbers to report Covid-19 challenges to the department with effect from 01st July 2020.

The call centre numbers are 018 388 4291 and 018388 5585 and they will  even be operational beyond  Covid -19.
