The North West Department of Education and Sport Development sends its well wishes to Machakela-Mamodibo Secondary School of Hammanskraal (Mogogelo, Moretele Local Municipality) for being named the Developing School Team of the Year in the 13th annual  SA Sports awards held on Saturday, 11 November 2018 in Bloemfontein.

The school made the province proud in obtaining first position for its sterling performance in the U/19 netball category competing with other giants in its league.

MEC Lehari could not contain his excitement in this magnificent win which he terms “the beginning”.

“We cannot over emphasise the importance of in-school sports. Not only does it nurture learner’s physical activity but sport as a discipline grooms them in acquiring leadership roles in the future. Indeed, we are truly proud of this achievement as a school, community and province as a whole. This is just the beginning of what school sports have to offer”, an excited Lehari explains.

Apart from being crowned winners of the SA Sports Awards, the school were also gifted a minibus and a trailer from Sport and Recreation South Africa that will assist in running their sport activities and carry the indigenous games equipment.
