NW EDUCATION WELCOMES THE GRADE 12 EXTRA CLASSES ORGANIZED BY JOHN FRYLING SECONDARY SCHOOL MANAGEMENT

The North West Department of Education wishes to thank the learners, teachers and parents of John Fryling Secondary School in Huhudi Township, Vryburg for celebrating Freedom Day by attending the Grade 12 Extra Classes organized by the school management on Thursday,  27 April 2023.

These extra classes follows after the intervention at the school by the first teacher in the province, MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi. Learning and teaching was disrupted for two days in the past week due to elements of gangsterism amongst the learners.

MEC Motsumi left her engagements and rushed to the school to reprimand the learners from disrupting learning and teaching. It is alleged that, learners were taking dangerous weapons to school to fight with other learners.

With the positive signs of extra classes organized by the school, MEC Motsumi welcomed the initiative.

“I take this time to welcome and appreciate the positive initiative by the school management. This is a sign that things are going to be normal again. The responsibility of learners is to learn and nothing else. At the end of the year learners should pass to a higher grade and teachers are responsible to teach.

“As a department our responsibility is to support curriculum delivery in our schools. Celebrating Freedom Day in school shows that it is possible. I wish that everyone at this school to unite and defeat the bad spirit of division amongst the learners. Let John Frylinck Secondary school claim back it’s glory by becoming the best school in the Naledi Local Municipality”, said MEC Motsumi.

MEC Motsumi has adopted the school and is expected to attend the next parents meeting.
