NW EDUCATION SATISFIED WITH TEACHER VACCINATION TURNOUT

The teacher vaccination roll-out which was initiated on Wednesday, 23 June 2021 across the country has been well received by North West Department of Education.

To date, North West province has vaccinated 18 307 employees out of 19 200 doses that were delivered.

MEC for Education in the North West is pleased by employee turn out and envisages a 100 percent turnout.

“I am very pleased by the vaccination turnout in the North West province. Our employees came out in numbers and we envisage a complete 100 percent vaccination by Wednesday, 08 July 2021 as they close schools following President Ramaphosa’s call on early recess. It is relieving to know that our teachers are taking care of their wellbeing through this vaccination program. I trust that the Phase 2 roll out is greatly anticipated,” said Matsemela.

Phase 2 of the roll out is estimated to be received by 30 June 2021 which will cover about 24 000 education staff.
