NW EDUCATION CONGRATULATES THE WINNING SCHOOLS OF THE PROVINCIAL ABC MOTSEPE SASCE COMPETITION

The North West Department of Education congratulated the 2022 North West SASCE Provincial champions which are going to hoist the North West sky high at the national the South African School Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) which will be staged on 28 June to 3 July 2022 at Rhema Church in Randburg..

The department hosted a three days provincial sasce at the Spirit Word Ministries, Lofdal in Stilfontein. There were 101 performances rendered to book a space to the national Championships and only 23 renditions wll go through.

The schools performed in categories such as Own choices, Gender based (Boys & girls)choirs, Special school’s choirs, Small Ensembles, soli, mixed choirs & Indigenous Forklore.

Amongst the choirs that will represent the province at the national SASCE is Matlosana Secondary school, Nkang Mahlale Secondary, Setilo Secondary, Tlamelang Special School and Moedwil Secondary Farm school. Gaopalelwe Secondary, Ramotshere , Kebonang, Reoleboge Special, Primaries- Morokweng , Bert Bricks, Kamogelo ,Keipatile , Molema Memorial & Ragogang.

The North West Education MEC, Mmaphefo Matsemela who attended all the 3 days of the eisteddfod is very optimistic that the winning choirs will make the province proud at the national level.

“I am very happy for all the choirs who have made it to the national level. I am confident that they will make our province proud by rendering quality performances and counted in the top three”

“For those choirs who did not make it, they should not despair . As a department we say – we can not all be winners but we can all be participants therefore qualitative participation is key”, said MEC Matsemela.

Matsemela further emphasized that these extra mural activities are aimed at skilling, sharpening and nurturing learner’s talents.
