NORTH WEST TEACHER NOMINATED TO THE AU CONTINENTAL TEACHER AWARDS 2021

 

The North West Department of Education wishes the best of luck to multi-award winner, Ms Agnes Rasesemola, Principal of Sunrise View Secondary School from Sunrise Township near Rustenburg. Rasesemola has been nominated for the African Union Continental Teacher Awards to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethopia on Tuesday, 30 November 2021.

The African Union Teacher Awards are established as means to demonstrate respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating committed teachers in Africa. The Prize mechanism will shine a spotlight on ‘great’ teachers and facilitate sharing of their remarkable stories.

Rasesemola is the first principal of Sunrise View Secondary since its inception in 2014 and she has won several awards including at a national level namely; obtained position two in the 2021 National Best Teacher category and first position in the Excellence in Secondary School Leadership category in 2017 in the National Teaching Awards competitions.
The National Department of Basic Education nominated her to represent the country in the African Union Continental Teacher Awards.

The MEC for Education, Mmaphefo Matsemela wishes her well as she represents the province.

You have indeed made us proud as your province with all your achievements in the sector of education. I am confident that, even this title surely will be brought back to our country to motivate teachers and learners”, said MEC Matsemela.

The North West Department of Education will join Ms Rasesemola at a virtual announcement of the results according to the following schedule:
