MEC MOTSUMI RETURNS TO JOHN FRYLINCK SECONDARY SCHOOL

The North West Department of Education MEC, Viola Motsumi returns to John Frylinck Secondary School in Huhudi near Vryburg after the school experienced serious incidents of gangsterism amongst the learners since the beginning of the year.

During the April month learning and teaching was disrupted at John Frylinck Secondary School due to incidents of gangsterism. Learners attended school carrying dangerous weapons.

The MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi left all her engagements and visited the school in order to bring back sanity to the school community. The MEC was accompanied by the Community Safety and Transport Management department.

“I have been extremely concerned about the behaviour of learners of this school. Some learners threatened safety of other learners which is a serious violation of the constitution. Every learner has a right to education in this country and nobody must take away that right.

“I have adopted this school the last time I was there. This meant that l am going to conduct a close monitoring of the behaviour of the learners of this school”, said MEC Motsumi.
