MEC MATSEMELA CONVEYS MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCES TO THE TSELAPEDI FAMILY
The North West Department of Education, MEC Mmaphefo Matsemela was saddened by the untimely demise of the former MEC for the Department of Education Oabetswe, Johannes Tselapedi reported over the past weekend.
The late O.J. Tselapedi who was an annointed Pastor and many people affectionately called him “Moruti”, became the MEC for Education from 2004 until 2010. At the time of his death, he was serving as the Municipal Public Accounts Committee Chairperson at Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality.
MEC Matsemela was overcome with sadness when she learned of Pastor Tselapedi’s untimely passing.
“On behalf of the department, I would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the entire Tselapedi family. Who can forget when our province was trailing from behind during the matric results between position 7 and 8 in the matric results year after year? The former MEC’s efforts, together with those of his team helped to enhance the province’s performance to the improvement of the results. The province’s outcomes made North West to what is regarded as a top performing province. May his soul rest in eternal peace”, said MEC Matsemela.
MEC Matsemela indicated that the department will continue to work hard to honour the legacy left by this gentle giant.
