BOJANALA DISTRICT CELEBRATES TOP ACHIEVERS

The 18th position district in the country celebrated their top matric achievers in style at a glamorous event held at Kgaswane Lodge on Tuesday, 08 February 2022.

Bojanala District obtained position 1 in the province at 81,61% in the 2021 matric results which is a 0,44% improvement from last year. Three out of 5 sub – districts have performed  above 80% and none performed below 70%. Bojanala District has a learner who is a Top Achiever in the province.

The MEC for Education, Mmaphefo Matsemela who was a special guest congratulated the district for their sterling performance in the 2021 matric results.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate the entire district for their sterling performance. I want to thank our learners, teachers, parents, business community, departmental officials and all stakeholders for their role in the 2021 matric results. The community plays a very important role in the improvement of the results in our sector of education.

“Education is a societal matter, the community should be the one which fights to protect learning and teaching. This year l am going to interdict anyone who disrupts Education. Our schools are continually being vandalized whilst they are within the communities. We cannot allow learners to loose their important time of being in class due to the communities protesting for things which are far away from education. As a society we need to come together and discuss how we can protect the education of our learners”, said MEC Matsemela.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation Chief Executive officer, Sello Hatang encouraged learners not to loose hope.

“On behalf of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, l would like to encourage all of the learners to never loose their hope. We should all draw a lesson from our struggle icon and former State President, Nelson Mandela who never lost hope when he was still in jail. He spent 27 years behind bars but remained hopeful that he will be free one day”, said Hatang the Nelson Mandela foundation CEO.

The Bojanala District Director, Motsei Paledi indicated that for 2022 academic year their target is to be in the top 10 of the best performing districts nationally.
